Mr. Coffee coffee maker

I would never recommend this coffee maker to anyone!

This morning my coffee pot made what I call “hot, tan water” which is not what I wanted. I enjoy my coffee dark, darker the better. My family, including husband tease me about how dark my coffee is. “It is like tar, how can you drink that??”, they would all say. It is what I am used to, wakes up my taste buds in the morning and in turn wipes away the sleep from my eyes. “Hot, tan water” doesn’t work for me!

Non electric glass percolator Until I can get a new coffee maker I am using an antique glass non electric percolator. Above is a pic of what it looks like. Now if you love dark, dark, strong coffee that is the thing you may want to use. It makes coffee that is almost too strong for me even!! But I won’t complain, I’m lucky I have it otherwise I would be forced to drink the dreadful instant coffee eek! I am not bashing instant coffee but really it tastes dreadful to me. The only exception is the Starbucks instant coffee, simply amazing stuff. When I was still employed I would treat myself to a 6 pack of Starbucks instant coffee singles every payday. Oh I so miss them, maybe hubby will buy me some for part of my mother’s day present :).

My windows in my bedroom are open due to nice semi warm weather gracing us with its presence. I write in my bedroom because it is the most comfortable for me. Ugh there is so much noise outside I am really distracted. Neighbors must have their window open too, I can hear them, husband and wife, screaming at each other. Their dog is barking every so often in their front yard. They finally stopped screaming at each other after about 15 minutes ( dog is still barking on and off ). I then hear him in his back yard chatting with a city worker. The city worker has a back hoe idling in the alley! It is loud, the neighbor has to raise his voice in order for city worker ( dog is still barking ) to hear him. Oh and to top it all off, all the action and neighbor dog barking makes our dog bark and bark ( he is in his large kennel outside ). During that time my oldest daughter comes into my room several times with my granddaughter. I am going to make a sign ” Do not disturb, if you aren’t bleeding or need my immediate attention wait until momma is done writing or sleeping!” Back hoe sounds like it is just sitting in alley running idle still.

As I write this post I am getting more and more agitated. I will now have to shut windows and breath in stagnant air swirling around my bedroom.  Like I promised, I will be posting review of Wasted Life by Robert Enders tomorrow ( Thursday the 9th ). I am almost finished with reading it. Have a wonderful day everyone! Blog on, write on!

I could smell the coffee, hear the neighbours and the dogs, feel your agitation. Wonderful that you can draw your reader in so well

Thank you for the compliment. I only got 300 words written in my book today but due to all the noise I guess it was a great accomplishment.
